Since the publication of his first book in 1986, Ed Kavanagh has travelled widely, visiting many schools and libraries. As a musician, harper, and writer of children's songs, he adds variety to his visits with musical selections on guitar and Celtic harp. He has performed extensively throughout Newfoundland and Labrador as well as in Nova Scotia, Ontario, New Brunswick, and Ireland. He is the author of The Confessions of Nipper Mooney, a novel about growing up near St. John's in the 1960s. Ed is a wonderful musician who has spent ten years developing his skills as a player of the Celtic harp. His 2005 release Weaving the Wind has become a regional best seller and continues to sell well through local record stores and online. Ed is available as a solo performer at festivals and local events. He is also interested in combining his music with readings from his popular children's series, The Adventures of Amanda Greenleaf .
