Mark and Darlene Tremblett, former employees of Garrison Guitars in St. John's, have established a new guitar workshop in Pouch Cove, Newfoundland to produce fine handcrafted archtop jazz guitars.

Jazz guitars by well-known North American builders can sell for as much as $15,000 to $20,000 and require a wait time of years.Working with local and exotic woods, Mark will apply everything he has learned as a guitar maker to produce superlative instruments at reasonable prices. Tremblett Archtops will be able to deliver custom designed and constructed instruments for prices that will range up to $3000 (US) initially. If you are among the first to order, you will not have long to wait for delivery of your one of a kind instrument.

Using modern technology along with traditional methods and tools for carving the front and back of the instruments he builds, Mark Tremblett has already produced his first prototype,a wonderfully resonant seven-string full body model shown in the photo. Tremblett Archtops can have a built-in pickup for amplification, but primarily are richly responsive acoustic instruments. Each comes with an unconditional guarantee of quality.

The next model, currently under construction in Mark's home-based workshop, will feature a fingerboard, tailpiece and pickguard made of "purpleheart" a gorgeous deep purple hardwood from Africa. Future instruments will be custom-designed to the specifications of the customer, with many options, styles and exotic woods available.
