With funding from the SWASP program through the Community Services Council, five summer works students join our team to help organize and present the events taking place in August. They will be working on everything from volunteer coordination to graphic design, technical support and promotion.

A call for volunteers was issued, to find people to assist us with presenting the events during Our Future in Music. Volunteers will help with transportation, hosting and technical support. In return they will be able to attend events and concerts. Please apply by email before August 15.

Coast 101.1 joined us a media sponsor for Our Future in Music. Andy Newman will host our Opening Concert featuring Damhnait Doyle and Joel Plaskett at the Arts and Culture Centre on August 15. The Department of Tourism, Culture and Recreation of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has approved funding to assist us in supporting and promoting the music industry in this province. This support will help us present the workshops and showcases during Our Future in Music.

Speakers and presenters for Our Future in Music will include Paul Hoffert, founding member of band Lighthouse. Noank Media is a spinoff of his Harvard research that led to the development of software that tracks digital content use and compensates copyright holders.
