MUSIC TECHNOLOGY & SERVICES FAIR
Our music technology and services fair will present tools and services that musicians can use to create, share and earn income from their music. USB-ready microphones, digital recording and mixing decks, programs and devices that translate any instrument’s notes into any other instrument and podcast broadcasting are some of the specific tools and techniques to be shared.
Participants in the trade fair will also include local and national organizations that offer key services to support the work of musicians: AFM, EPW Pension Fund, HUB Insurance Services, Songwriters' Association of Canada, FACTOR, MusicNL, SOCAN, Cultural Human Resources Council, Music Performance Fund and the Sound Recording Special Payments Fund.
The music technology and services will offer some of the tools and services musicians will need to survive and flourish in the new working environment of digital distribution of music.

Kevin Pinhorn
Kevin is a young and dynamic sound recording engineer who works with Rick Hollett at Record Time Productions here in St. John's. Working with him is always a pleasure because of his keen ears, knowledge of media and equipment, and his easy-going nature. We are pleased to include him as the engineer in our mobile digital studio, which will be set up in the Battery Hotel to offer demo recording onsite, to any musician who would like to schedule a session, during our trade fair. At the same time, Kevin will be demonstrating recording techniques and equipment (courtesy of Musicstop) for all those who would like to observe. We will have microphones, a digital drum kit, electric guitar and bass ready to go. Bring your own acoustic instruments. Sign-up for a session is required. You can do this online by sending an email or at the Trade Fair itself.
