The future of music truly belongs in the hands of young musicians and music students who are just beginning their careers. So we plan to include them in the events we are planning.

In addition to performers, speakers, delegates and the public, we hope to involve groups of young musicians and music students in the events during Our Future in Music.

Four local youth workshop groups focused on music and music industry skills are being planned for Corner Brook, Central Newfoundland, Labrador and the Avalon Peninsula. Our aim is to find established local musicians to organize a week of training in their area after which they would bring their group to St. John's during Our Future in Music, to participate in workshops and the technology and services fair, during the opening weekend.

Over the ten days of events the young musicians will be able to attend concerts and participate in additional workshops and training developed to meet their needs as young musicians. This will be a wonderful opportunity to gain new skills, learn about music as a career and make contacts for the future.

We have a tentative commitment from Corner Brook and will be seeking leadership for the regional groups in the three other areas. Detailed information will be posted here as this aspect develops. Please contact us by email if you have any interest in participating.
